We are excited to announce that Monorail users will soon be able to request an outside account transfer directly through the app. With Automated Customer Account Transfer Service (ACATS), users can now move their outside investments to Monorail with ease.
What is ACATS?
ACATS, or Automated Customer Account Transfer Service, is an electronic platform designed to streamline the process of transferring customer accounts between brokerage firms and banks. Developed by the National Securities Clearing Corporation (NSCC), ACATS was created to replace the older, manual method of transferring assets.
ACATS can transfer many types of assets, including: Stocks, Bonds, Cash, Unit trusts, Mutual funds, Options, Certificates of deposit (CDs), Taxable accounts, Individual retirement accounts (IRAs), and Trusts.
Monorail Introduces Seamless Account Transfer Feature with Dedicated Support
Monorail is pleased to announce that app users can now initiate the account transfer process seamlessly by completing a simple form within the app. Users can access this feature through the Account Transfer section in the menu or by selecting the Transfer Account link on the final screen of the app's onboarding process. This enhancement streamlines the process, making it more convenient for users to manage their accounts.
When Monorail users wish to transfer an external account to their new Monorail account, our support staff will guide them through the process of transferring holdings from an outside brokerage. Users only need to upload their most recent account statement and click or tap to request a transfer. A friendly Monorail team member will then contact the user within 24 hours to complete the transfer process.
